Alessandro Luzzi bei Mödinger - Italian Lakes
Alessandro grew up in Switzerland and Italy but travelled so much from a very young age that ‘home’ has been several different places. He has studied philosophy and history, earned a master’s degree in creative writing and worked in publishing and journalism but feels that leading tours is what he was meant to do. As a guide for the Italian Lakes, Alessandro gets to share the intricacies of history, food, language and life in Italy with groups of travelers, an experience he finds deeply rewarding.

Amadeo Tarquini - Italy
Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Amadeo has also lived in the UK, France, Spain and Lybia. He has been working as an Italian tour guide with The Travel Department for years and loves sharing his knowledge of - and passion for - his home country with visitors. In his spare time, Amadeo enjoys art, archeology, sports, music, painting and cooking.

Brigitte Lozano - France
Born in Saint Tropez, Brigitte now lives in Nice, on the French Rivera. After High School, she spent seven years studying and working in the United States, returning to France in 1982 to obtain her diploma from the local hotel school. Since then, she has been working in a travel agency and as a tour leader, guiding people from all over the world around France. Brigitte likes to paint in her spare time and dreams that when she retires, she will spend her days painting in a garden in Provence. |

Daniela Guskic - Austria
Born and raised in Vienna, Daniela has worked in tourism and destination management since graduating from school where she studied history and political science. In addition to her work as a tour guide in Vienna Daniela also enjoys reading, bicycle riding, skiing, spending time with friends and travelling.

Demetra Potsika - Greece
Demetra was born in Thessaloniki and studied at the National School of Tourist Guides of Athens. She has worked as a tour guide in Greece since 1998. Her studies in Hotel Management, Museum Studies and Conference Interpreting have given her a great understanding of the tourist industry. She speaks English, Italian and Russian and her interests include wine, astronomy, scuba diving, sculpture, Greek flora and in the Chinese language.

Emad 'Dodi' Fathy - Egypt
From a young age, Dodi as attracted to the history of Ancient Egypt, especially the Pharaonic period. Born in Cairo, he received his tour guide license from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism. It was a dream come true for Dodi to share his passion and knowledge of Ancient Egypt with people from all over the world. Fluent in English and Spanish, as well as his native Arabic, he has been leading tours around Egypt for The Travel Department since 2007. When not working, Dodi enjoys travelling and will not stop until he sees the whole world. |

Joe Zhou - China
Joe has been involved in travel business since 1982, after he obtained a bachelor degree in English Literature in Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages. He has worked with The Travel Department since 2004, leading guided tours of China and Hong Kong. In his spare time, Joe looks after wild animals and plays golf. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe and America. His favorite travel destination is Los Angeles. |

Kent Taylor - USA
Kent has been a professional tour manager since 1999 and has been leading USA tours for The Travel Department since 2006. He is a former national park ranger and university professor. Kent is the founder and director of the National Park Society and is an expert on the national parks of the United States and Canada.
When not guiding tours, Kent serves as a park ranger at the world famous "Garden of the Gods" park in Colorado. Kent's global adventures include a 500 mile walk across Ireland, a 1,000 mile bike ride through New Zealand and a 1,500 mile journey up the holy Ganges River in India.

Laszlo Poliakovits - Hungary
Our guide in Hungary, Laszlo, has been working in the travel industry for over thirty years. In 1974, he obtained a PHD from the University of Economics in Budapest, where he has lived all of his life. His passion for travelling has taken him all over the world and he speaks English, German and Russian. When not working, Laszlo enjoys music, literature and cooking.

Luzia has been working as a professional tour guide in Austria for 12 years. She is fluent in German, English, Italian and French and is familiar with Czech. Luzia enjoys taking visitors on walking tours in the beautiful Salzkammergut, one of the most striking landscapes in Austria. She lives with her family in the fascinating imperial town of Bad Ischl.

Renate has been working exclusively with The Travel Department for over six years. Before becoming a tour guide for The Travel Department Lake Garda holidays, she worked with local and international travel agencies. Sarka Vujtkova - Prague, Czech Republic
Sarka was born in Czechoslovakia and received her diploma from the Technical University in Prague in 1981. She has been a tour guide in Prague since the days of communist reign and enjoys talking to people about past and present life in the Czech Republic, including the beauties, secrets and mysteries of her city. In her free time Sarka enjoys sport, music, ballet and singing with her choir.
