Ash Cloud Update
24/5/2011 12:00:00 AM
Some flights from Scotland are being disrupted as a result of airspace restrictions due to volcanic ash. We are contacting all affected customers by text message to advise.
We sincerely regret the disruption that airspace closures are causing our customers and assure them that we are doing everything possible to minimise the negative effects on them. We are monitoring the situation on a 24 hour basis and emphasise that we will be in touch with affected passengers by text message.
If you are scheduled to travel with us in the coming weeks, please click here to send us your mobile phone number if you think that we do not have it already.
For customers who have not yet travelled, if your flight is affected The Travel Department will:
1. Notify you by text message if your flight is affected;
2. Give you the option to travel on the next available flight;
3. Give you the option to avail of a refund.
If customers are delayed abroad, The Travel Department will:
1. Keep you up-to-date by text message, phone and via our local guide;
2. Rebook customers on the next available flight;
3. Arrange accommodation abroad if required.
Customers are advised to monitor the media for updates on flight restrictions and also airline websites for possible flight cancellations.
