Bilbao, in the north of Spain, is the largest city in the Basque Country and the capital of the province of Biscay. Bilbao’s inhabitants are spread along the length of the Nervion River and surrounded by fertile landscapes, forests, mountains and beaches. In recent times the city has undergone regeneration with investments in ambitions architecture and infrastructure. Bilbao is famous for the Guggenheim Museum – a spectacular twisting titanium clad, modern art museum, which is perhaps the most celebrated building of the 1990s.
