This delightful lake lies to the west of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy and is one of the country’s smaller lakes. The hills and mountains that surround the edges of the lake give the area a fairytale atmosphere and a unique serenity. The intimate island of San Giulio has inspired artists, poets and writers through the centuries with its Romanesque and Baroque architecture.
