Nova Scotia is a Canadian province mainly located on a peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. The area is known for the highest tides in the world, award-winning vineyards, charming fishing villages, towering cliffs and long peaceful beaches. The Scottish Highland Clearances in the 18th century and the Irish famine saw many migrants with Celtic roots arrive on the shores of Nova Scotia. This resulted in Celtic heritage having a strong influence on the area's culture - in Cape Breton over 1000 people speak Gaelic!
